"No Other Way"

No Other Name - Unhindered
Teach my eyes to recognize You
Teach my lips to glorify You
Guide my feet so I can find You
Wherever You are
Be my way, I'm lost without you
Be my light, shining through my every breath
My every move, till every thought is You

One day every knee will bow
To the
God of Glory, the Lord most Holy
Emmanuel
Giver of Life, Light of the world
And there's no other name
Worthy of praise but Yours

Teach my eyes to recognize You
Teach my lips to glorify You
Guide my feet so I can find You
Wherever You are

One day every knee will bow
And one day every tongue will confess
You're the
God of Glory, the Lord most Holy
Emmanuel
Giver of Life, Light of the world
There's no other name
Worthy of praise but Yours

Jesus, there's no other name but Yours
Jesus

You're the
God of Glory, the Lord most Holy
Emmanuel
God of Glory, the Lord most Holy
Emmanuel
Giver of Life, Light of the world
And there's no other name
Worthy of praise, oh there's no other name
Worthy of praise but Yours
There's no other name but Yours

In my room every morning and evening, in my car, at school, at church, everywhere I go, I think..."there has to be a different way or better way of doing this and that.  It could go anywhere from thinking about the fast I'm on, to what my schedule is that day or week.

After this past weekend, I've learned so much from helping at PennDel Youth Convention.  I heard many great songs played by the band UNHINDERED and they gave God the glory in it.  Robert Madu, the speaker, a quote of his was, "When your experience doesn't line up with your expectation, that gives the Holy Spirit room to work in us."

We need to think more along the lines of that.

If you've ever come to a fork in the road and aren't sure which way to take, what path do you take?  What are the precautions you take to get there?

I think to many times people look to much into what the want.  They want it THEIR way and not exactly GOD'S way.  So how do we fix this?

We must go in God's way all the time.  It is because of him sending down his son Jesus Christ to die for us on the cross that we must follow the Lord.  It's not about what we exactly want, or what we choose to do with how we form our lives, but it's because of God's love we are free.  We are free from condemnation when we repent and ask God to change us.  We can't let things hold us back, just like the song says from Jesus Culture.

One way I've learned this year that it's not my way but God's way it through the different fasts I've done.  Not just through fasting different things but through taking the time to listen to music such as, No Other Name - Unhindered.  There is something so powerful I love about the song.  It talks about asking God to guide us in our everyday life form.  In the song, we sing about asking God to teach our eyes to recognize him, and our lips to glorify him.

We need to remember and think clearly on the steps we take to get to where we should go.  We can't cheat, make it easier, take a different route necessarily but it's about asking for God's guidance, because He promises to never leave or forsake us.  We can fully trust him, because he IS the only way, there's no other name but His name!

A Purposeful Fast

Through the past few months, fasting different things almost nonstop, I've learned to pray in the time that I would normally do the thing I'm fasting.  Before this school year, I never really knew why exactly we fasted except that Jesus and others in the Bible did it.  I've been fasting McDonalds now for about a month, did the 3 day Harvest Cry fast, fasted facebook and for a few days trying to work on not complaining, critizing, or something else.

In this time, I realize that I complain a lot and that temptation from that can be a huge thing.  I learned that confessing that can make me more free.  Last class we learned about confession.  That really helped me out this year because, there have been things in my past that I haven't been completely proud of.  I've talked to different people about different things, confessing what I think I did wrong or thought wrong.  Confession can bring out the best for us.  It brings out trust, honesty and integrity.  Along with that may go temptation.  Something huge that I learned from Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren is that the devil tempts us when we are sort of doing well.  If we were already on his side, there wouldn't be much temptation.  Therefore when we are being tempted and know it's the devil, that gives us the perfect opportunity to do the complete opposite.  That teaches us too that temptation is really a compliment.  Temptation is a sign that Satan hates us because we aren't doing his evil will in that area.

In making my fast purposeful, I've been praying for than ever, not really about the temptation to use facebook but to pray for more important things such as ministry opportunities, schoolwork, jobs, etc.  Either way in the time of fasting, I've learned to trust God with my heart, knowing that he will take care of the things I may fear.  This is definately a purposeful fast for me. :)

Live a life in fear or in faith?

In our lives, why do we live in fear?  I think people tend to live in fear to much.  Lance said to GMC today that you know you are worrying (fear) whenever you don't have peace anymore.  Why do we worry when we have our Father in Heaven?  Just because you can't really see God physically, he is around us. :)

Lately, especially the past few weeks in this sermon series...I've been so amazed by God and just love how he's been working through me and each team I'm with.  I've been dealing lately with just fear issues with school, family, jobs, but I was told by many people to pray, not worry, and one person cared enough to share with me Matthew 6:25-34 which I know I've said the past few blogs.  It's just really stuck with me and hit me lately.  The opposite of fear is faith.  What I've learned is that if I don't have faith with God, then I'm not trusting in him enough.  I don't think I was completely trusting in him with money lately.  After hearing the sermon and a friend praying for me, actually a few people, I know that God will provide finances I need for Armenia Missions Trip and school next year as well as this summer.

God is so amazing, just how he's transforming our worship team spiritually, coming closer together reading Bible passages on occasion.  We have great 6x6 goals that we are working on.  Trying to find new members for sound, getting together a River Service, etc.  I can't wait to see what we come up with.  I'm starting to work more on my goals which are to make my own mission and vision statement, pass my classes at least a B for each, eating more fruits and vegetables, time management, etc.
Through GMC God is changing us into a closer team.  We're wanting to possibly do a human video for graduation.  We've been lifting each other up in prayer casting out the fears that we have.  We're asking God to provide and we know he'll provide the finances and anything we need for Armenia.
Through GMC Worship Team, lately we've had an awesome time with our practices, just worshiping and having fun.  It's been such a blessing and a joy for me to work with them.
I love the messages that are going on with the church and in youth and kids.
I just thank God so much for all he's provided me with lately.

A fear i'm sort of dealing with now is how my GMC family is going to deal not having our dog Elecktra again. I prayed a bit through the house last night just asking for peace and restoration over everyone in the house.  Lulu doesn't have to struggle anymore or be sick.  Though it may seem like I don't like dogs that much sometimes, I do.  I just don't like all the slobbering and hair but I still love the dogs.

I'm praying with as much faith as I can for the next step in my life.  I know that God has called me to another year of GMC, and to be in worship/ youth ministry, and to move to Tulsa.  Eventually I want to reside in New Oxford and I want to try to go to the beach as much as I can in the summer because that is where I love to see God's beauty.  Worship music here at Freedom Valley and the beach is just perfect for me, with my family and friends.

These have just been a few pics to illustrate what the past year has been for me.  I only pray for more amazing things and especially through our trip to Armenia!!  People fear for us going there but we are going in faith.  People are going with unhealthy fear...I'm going with positive fear which is Faith in Christ!!! :)

I'm going to Armenia to submit myself to simplicity and serving in Christ like we learned last week with Mother Teresa.  She sounded like such an amazing woman of God and I remember back to the time she passed.  Lord, I just submit myself, time, and talents, prayers to you on this trip and for the rest of my life! :)

Thanking, Praising and Worshiping

Have you thought about the way you live at all?

Lately, I've really been spending a lot more time in the word and just talking to God.  It's been such a blessing in my life and I want to share it with others.  In the past few weeks, I've been worrying, fearful of different things, choices that I will probably make.  What I've learned from this is that the opposite of fear is faith.  So, when I was fearing things, I wasn't trusting and having faith in God.  When did I stop having faith in him?  I believe it could have been when I've lost special people in my life due to cancer, suicide, etc.  Ever since a great friend, sister in Christ shared Matthew 6:25-34 with me, I've felt so relieved and blessed to be serving a God who loves and cares for me.  God is not fake or materially fake.  He gives us everything and anything we need.  I know, that I just need to follow and trust in him.

Another friend of mine asked me to pray more about different things I've been worried about and find the reasons why.  She also told me to make some expectations for myself for this schoolyear still.  I'm still working on the expectations but I think with fearing things, it's because I'm afraid God wouldn't do it when I want it.  I know though that God has a plan for me and it's far more greater than what I can imagine if I follow and trust in him.

In fearing different things, I was prayed for by many different people but when a great missionary from India prophesied over me what I've been praying for lately, I was stunned.  He prayed over me exactly what I prayed for all weekend.  God is just so amazing!

Through worship this week, I've never felt closer to God than what I have this week.  Between GMC worship and FVWC woship, my own prayer/worship time, it's been amazing.  I've been more prepared for worship, taking the time to sit down and just pray.  It's been a huge thing for me just getting back into "The Heart of Worship."  I've felt so blessed just doing everything I have with worship and would love to do more.  Along with worshiping God, I thank and praise him for answering prayers I've had lately.  I asked to heal  friend, and he did.  I've asked for answers with the summer (family & job), he's answered that.  I asked him to show me his heart in Armenia, which I'm now settled with the trip though money could possibly be a problem.  I've also asked him for the spiritual gift of leadership.  Some people in my life told me that I have great potential to be one but that I can't be afraid to step out into that role.

I just thank you Lord, for all you've been doing in my life.  I pray that you continue to strengthen me and build me up into the woman of God you want me to be.  I want to be able to serve you all the time for your kingdom!  Lord God, change my heart into pureness.  Things that I struggle with (talking about others) help me to become the better person.  I thank you and praise you for all you do, so now I just want to bless you with my worship.  I invite you for forever!  Thank you God!

That's What Faith Can Do

If it's anything I should talk about in my life from this past week, it would be talking about my faith.  A friend and I recently had a fantastic time/meeting at Panera Bread to talk about our growth group plans for others to join.  She asked me if I was ok, that I didn't seem like myself.  I was sort of stunned at that. I thought I was having a pretty good day even though I have a million things on my mind and praying about.  I shared a lot with her and she had me read:

Matthew 6:25-34
25 “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? 27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?
28 “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, 29 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. 30 And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?
31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God[d] above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

I've read the passage before, but I think almost just read over it and not really seeing it until today.  I've learned that the reason tend to worry so much, about school, relationships, jobs/internships, etc is because I don't put all my faith and trust in God.  I always thought I have but I haven't as much as a I thought.  What I've learned is that, letting go and laying down everything at the foot of the cross can be a hard step.  If you do that however, putting, keeping the faith and trust in God is all we can do in life.  God is our only way to live by and for.  This a prinicple I need to take with me everywhere I go.  Anywhere I travel in the future, those people need to know top ut their faith and hearts into Christ

Also, something I've been realizing is that, with this 40 day purpose fast, I've been spending much more time in the word and worshipping God.  I feel like I haven't had that in a few months.  Having it back is really nice and I pray to make this more of a habit.  God is just fantastic and really brought me into my own light lately!

"Lord, thank you for all you do! You are so awesome and have shown me so much faith, love, mercy, and grace. I pray to give all those right back to you! Amen."

The Harvest Cry of My Heart

Have you ever heard of Bible verse, "the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few."  This is from Luke 10:2.  This week/ weekend has been a time of harvesting God's field.  As people, we need to learn to send more workers out to the field to grow the kngdom of God.

Though this is what I am using for my presentation in class this is what I've learned this week. Enjoy!!
Saturday night I believe, but Sunday was fantastic! Just hearing the way we prayed as a worship this past sunday morning was, it's hard to describe but I LOVED it! Not only Sunday morning but I believe it was that night, we heard a Bible passage before we went on stage...both times, in the morning and night, we just said "Give it all up to God until there is nothing left.  Don't hold anything back, and give it your all."

This first video is about giving your all to the Lord and holding nothing back. This definitly fit my week and past few months for Harvest Cry.
Holding Nothing Back- Jesus Culture (we did this song the past few weekends)

This second video also reminds me about giving your all to God until you have nothing left to give.  It's very inspirational!!
scene from "Facing The Giants" movie...my favorite part!

God was so inspirng this weekend to me through the Imagine Conference and through Harvest Cry.  I saw some miraculous healings and just people dedicating their lives to Christ and submitting themselves to the Holy Spirit! This is what we've prayed for for months! I've experienced some of this recently and then saw it.  Being a partial eye witness to miracles from God!
Blessings in Christ!

Don't Eat...PRAY & FAST!

Throughout this week, I've thought a bit about what we learned in class.  We learned about what people think of Christians and unchristian people.  I've found this to be a bit ridiculous and over the edge but ok.  People are right, that Christians can be hypocritical and the other things.  I've experienced this but everyone is like that at one point.  The only thing we can really do is try our best to live like Christ did and following God's word.

A way I'm doing that lately is by constantly praying and fasting.  I've been fasting McDonalds since wednesday and I've been fasting everything but water since sunday for Harvest Cry.  Another thing I started is "A Complaint Free World" bracelet.  If I complain, criticize, or gossip, I have to switch the bracelet to the other wrist.  I can't wait to see what God has planned with these fasts and during Harvest Cry.  Satan is trying to fight back but he has already been defeated I believe through Jesus Christ!  Read Daniel 9:3.  I love this verse on fasting and praying.
I love how I've found a family with GMC and just in general at FVWC.  I love living with the Kadish's.  They've been a blessing to me since I'm not with my family who raised me.  I've found an amazing church family under the body of Christ and feel I'm to stay here forever.  Eventually I'm to go to the Tulsa plant but not for like 5-10 years.  When I get married and move out of Thomasville, I would love to live in New Oxford.  God has definitly blessed the town of New Oxford!  I love how God's beauty shines out in it!  I love just working with Charity and worship team, ThEdge youth, and kids ministry here.  I've been praying for our team, our churches, families, etc.  It's been a lot but know God is blessing us through this!

I've been keeping up pretty well in all homework, staff work, scripture memory.  I can't believe in 2 months and 1 week we graduate.  God is just so amazing and this is what he's been working in me in the past week.  I'm definitly not going to hold anything back this week!  This is a new song we did this past week for worship.  God also has shown me that I'm not done here yet!
Holding Nothing Back - Jesus Culture
I know this is a shorter blog than usual but I this is what God's been working in me! Blessings!

God Of This City

In this world, we need to know what our mission, our vision is for our life and whether it matches God's!  What is your virutes, your morals?  What I learned this past week is that God is crazy about us and we need to be crazy about him.  We need to love him and love others!  The most important commandments is, "Love the Lord with all your heart, soul, and mind."  Secondly is to, "Love your neighbor as yourself."

The Christian rule of chastity cannot be confused with social rule of modesty.  I like how in class we learned a quote from C.S. Lewis stating that, "old, ol-fashioned people, should be careful not to assume that young people are corrupt, and in return, young people should not call their elders prudes."
If you look at the unhealthy view of sex & food parallel it's really bad.  We need to learn to act on discipline because things cannot get confused.  If you go as far as you want wen you want...that can be very bad most times.  Things people crave for, they need to think, "will this please God?"  That's why fasting is so good to do in different areas of your life.  I tend to do this and others do too but we are always wanting things instantly but it can't always be like that.  In most cases, the best things in life will be more blessed over time and when you wait."  What we need to crave after is our God because he is so jealous for our attention that we don't give enough to him.  I love how in God of This City, Bluetree writes about greater things are yet to come and greater things are still to be done in this city!  God has such big plans in our lives and in every part of the world.  Everyone needs to discover their spiritual gifts so that they can help others in their callings.  1 Corinthians 12 talks about that.  "A real desire to believe all the good you can of others and to make others as comfortable as you can will solve most of the problems."  We really need to think on this.  I know that people need to learn to this "vision" because often people are out of their comfort zones.  That can be a good thing but if it is to much for them then people will back out too much.  I know that when I get out of my comfort zone to talk and help others, that helps them and then they can ask for help in areas that usually need attention.

Marriage, love, Christ is so important to pay attention to.  In relationships there will always be obstacles and you'll be tested on your faith.  That is when you need to press and push through those obstacles.  A good marriage is when both people always get along but in a GREAT marriage, there will be obstacles that the couple defeat and push through.  When I think of this concept, I don't just think about the song "Marry Me" by train with the birthday video for Rachel by Hugh Jackman and Rachel's husband Christtian.  I think about the movie, Fireproof.  This movie starring Kirk Cameron is so influencial especially to married couples going through problems.

How far would you go to save your relationships?  Especially maybe your relationship with God?  We all need to ask ourselves this question.  "Never leave your partner behind, especially in a fire."  God never gave up on us.  He's never given up on me, so I can't give up on him.  Wait on him patiently and serve, worship and love while you are waiting for him.
(I saw this music video from Fireproof and it reminded me of another video I saw, created by one of our own Freedom Valley members but I'll just show the Fireproof version).

"Justice = keeping promises"
When I hear the song, "How He Loves Us" I think about the 2 most important commandments again.  We need to pay attention to the trinity.  We need to love people and give them second chances as much as we can because God does that for us.  Love others and Christ as much as he loves you!  I always try to follow this but it can be difficult at times.  We need to "let truth have the power"  Lately, i'm trying to learn and worry about who, what, when, where, and how to minister to people, sharing truth with them.  Keep love as a deep unity you have for someone.  I know for me, when I love people such as my family, friend, etc it brings unity for them and myself.

Forgiveness = mercy & grace.  God is a merciful and graceful God.  People tend to say that forgiveness is a lovely idea until they have something to forgive.  We can't judge others though because when we judge someone else, then we will be judged.  I like how what we learned in class last week was that when we need to consider ourselves and everyone else better than you/they are.  We need to give ourselves the benefit of a doubt sometimes.  When we sin though, we tend to want others to judge us by our intentions and not the sin.  I don't know, it's very interesting what we learn in class sometimes.  I love the quote by Bertha Calloway where she says, "We cannot direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails."

Thinking about the great sin is such a hard concept sometimes for people and for myself.  Pleasure in being praised is not pride.  We must not think pride is something God forbids.  Humility is something that God demands.  I tend to be to prideful sometimes in how I live my life but I need to learn to humble myself before God more.  Esepcially during weekend services I tend to not do this enough.

Another thing we learned about that was probably my favorite part of class is Charity/Giving, Christian Love.  The power of ONE can make such a difference in peoples lives.  Especially look at Jesus Christ himself.  I love giving to others and especially tithing.  This is where the commandment, "Love your neighbor as yourself" comes into play.  Right now, I'm currently feeling the desire that God placed in my heart to sponser a Compassion child and also to buy a pair of TOMS shoes.  These are some areas where I want to be able to give.  Right now I can't but I pray to in the future..  I do help to sponser the SOS's compassion child.  Her name is Princy and I love that we can send letters to her.  I'm doing what I can though right now and that is giving to Freedom Valley Worship Center for the kingdom of God through partnership, serving in youth, kids and on worship team.  Lastly we need to provide hope to those around us.  I love when I can help people to realize that their is hope for them.  I wish I was more gifted in this area but I always try to do this.  I love how we have our own HOPE INITIATIVE here at church and i'm part of serving in that.

We are doing this all to further God's kingdom.  I only pray that God gives us all more direction in our lives through time on what he wants us to do in our lifetime here on earth.  Live for yourself, more for others, building it all up in faith for our one true, God of this city!! <3

Class notes 3/2/11

The Unpopular Virtue
- Virtue of Chastity: "The Christian Rule of Chastity must not be confused with social rule modesty"
- Culture: "Old, ol-fashioned people, should be careful not to assume that young people are corrupt, and in return, young people should not calltheir elders prudes." - C.S. Lewis
- Unhealthy view of sex & food parallel
- Chastity - acting on discipline...things can be confused.  If you go as far as you want when you want...that's bad.  That's why fasting is so good to do in different areas of your life.  We are always wanting instant but the best things will be more blessed in time, when you wait.
- "Everyone knows that the sexual appetit, like our other appetites (food), grows by indulgence."

In the movie SUPER-SIZE ME the guy ate McDonalds food every meal and every day for at least a month to see what the effects were to it.  Why do we crave things?  Are you addicted to this or that?  Is is harmful?
- "One critic said that if he found a country in which such strip-tease acts with food were popular, he would conclude the people of that country were starving."

Listen to this song.  The song is probably most known to you by hearing Chris Tomlin but Bluetree wrote it.  God of This City
- "A real desire to belive all the good you can of others and to make others as comfortable as you can will solve most of te problems."
1 Corinthians 12 - "Spiritual Gifts"
*Watch Craig Gross from xxxchurch.com*

Christian Marriage:
Marriage: love & Christ
- "The Christian attitude does not mean that there is anything wrong about sexual pleasure, anymore than about the pleasure of eating.  It means that you must not isolate that pleasure and try to get it by itself, any more than you ought to try to get the pleasures of teaste without swallowing digesting, by chewing things and spitting them out again."
In relationships, try to press and push through obstacles!!
Justice: Christian & Rachel
- "Justice = keeping promises"
*MarryMe - Train*
(P.S. This made me emotional)
"Oh, How He Loves Us", The Trinity is so important and we need to love people and give them second chances as much as we can.  Love them as much as Christ loves you!"
-"What Christ meant by saying that a thing will not really live unless it first dies.  It is simply no good trying to keep any thrill: that is the very worst thing you can do.  Let the thrill go- let it die away- go on thru that period of death into the quieter interest and happiness that follow- and you will find you are living in a world of new thrill all the time."
Divorce: love & Christ
- "A great many people seem to think that if you are a Christian yourself you should try to make divorce difficult for everyone, I do not think that."
- "Let truth have power!"  "Worry about who, what, when, where, how and if to minister to people."
A Few Things: Being in Love
*Ceasing to be "in love" need not mean ceasing to love.
*Who could bear that excitement, what would come of your work, appetite, sleep, & friendships.
*Love is a deep unity, maintained by the will and diliberatly strengthed by habit; reinforced by grace which comes from each other and God.
*Being in Love first moved them to promise fidelity: this quieter love enales them to keep promises.  It is on this love that the engine of marriage is run: being in love was the explosion that started it.

Forgiveness: mercy & grace
- "Every one says forgiveness is a lovely idea, until they have something to forgive."
- "When you judge someone, you will be judged."
- "When we sin, we want others to not judge by the sin but by the intentions.  Consider yourself and everyone else better than you/they are." (giving yourself the benefit of a doubt).

"We cannot diect the wind, but we can adjust the sails." - Bertha Calloway

"There is one vice of which no man in the world is free; which everyone in the world loaths when he sees it in someone else; and of which hardly any people, except Christians, ever imagine that they are guilty themselves." - pride leads to every other sin/vice

"It is the complete anti-God state of mind." "It was thru Pride that the devil became the devil: Pride leads every other vice."

The Great Sin
- "Pride gets no pleasure out of having something, only out of having more of it than the next man."
Misunderstandings: of the great sin
*Pleasure in being praised is not Pride, thinking what a fine person I must be to have done it...is.
*Being proud, a warm-hearted admiration for.
*We must not think Pride is something God forbids or that Humility is something he demands
*Humility is not someone who thinks he is a nobody, probably he is a cheerful, intelligent, chap, who took a real interest in what you said.
A Few Things: the great sin
*Pride Test: Ask, how much do I dislike it when other people snub me, or refuse to take any notice of me, or shove their oar in, show off?
*Power is what Pride enjoys
*As long as you are proud you cannot know God
*Whenever we fnd that our religious life is making us feel that we are good, above all, that we are better than someone else,  I think we may be sure that we are being acted on not by God, but by the devil.

Charity/Giving: Christian love
*ONE*

**Romans 12 (The Message)**
A Few Things: charity/giving
*Charity: the state of the will which we have naturally about ourselves, and must learn to have for other people.
*Do not waste time bother whether you "love your neighbor," act as if you did.  If you do him a good turn, you will find yourself dissliking him less.
*Good and evil both increase at compound interest.  That is why the little decisions you and I make every day are of infinite importance.
*Christian Love, either towards God or towards man, is an affair of the will.

Hope
- "Aim at Heaven and you will get earth 'thrown in': aim at earth and you will get neither."
A Few Things: hope
*Christians who did most for the present world were just those who thought most of the next.
*If you read history you will find that the Christans who did most for the present world were just those who thought most of the next.
*Apostles and conversion Roman Empire and English Evangelials who Abolished Slavery.
*There are all scores of things in his world that offer to give it to you, but they never quite keep their promise.

In The Midst of Everything

To start off, I'm very upset that we haven't had class lately.  I feel like I've missed so much even if the class didn't happen but I guess it can always be fixed somehow if we just trust in God.

Lately, i've been thinking a lot about, "why am I here at Gettysburg Master's Commission and Freedom Valley Worship Center."

What I've come to realize, at least in the FVWC aspect is that God brought me here, to become a part of the church family where I can grow in my relationsip with Christ.  So far this year, I was water baptized to public show that I am living for God and giving him my all.  Secondly, I was I guess in a way filled with the Holy Spirit by speaking in tongues.  Also that same weekend that I was water baptized for the second time in my life is that I partnered with this church.  I feel that God wanted me to do this because I'm suppose to start something in this church.  I still don't know what that is yet but I can't wait to just continually help to grow the Kingdom of God.  I know that I was called here to continue in music ministry.  I have such a passion for music.  Music is something I grew up with and it's one of those things where it's almost my life.  Music is live my prayer language.  I connect with God through music and prayer but more so music.  Seeing people be able to discover their talents and just connect with God is something that is incredible to have.  Seeing different kinds of worship is something I want to see and work on.  Just playing acoustic sets, to a few members, to a full team, to an individual.  Some people feel like they don't connect with God through prayer...therefore, music is a way to connect with him.

I'm here at GMC to spend time connecting with the ThEdge youth and also with kids.  Not only to do that but to learn how to have that connection place with God.  Whenever you are in that place, it's just you and him.  I'm learning how to become more of a leader and a better one.  GMC exists to share the Gospel and minister to anyone wherever we go.  In GMC i'm here to learn what God wants me to do in the next stage of my life.  What i've received so far is a closer relationship with him.  I'm here for that "Turning Point," that "New Direction."  I've been asking the question lately of, "Am I utilizing my time with what God brought me here to do?"  That is definitly something I've worked on a lot this week.  We need to learn to ask, receive, and apply.  When you receive, keep to it!  Romans 8:31 states that nothing can separate us from God' love...ever!  We have the authority, ablility of power but we need to find it and use it in a way that furthers God's kingdom.

Worship and prayer lately with the team, since we got back from our Texas trip...the atmosphere has changed into something more positive and corporate.  Live an Exraordinary Life - John Bevere.  "Lord, help me to make an effective schedule and to follow it.  It's my desire to live and be used by you in the way you want me to.  Allow and help me to use my ears to hear you, my eyes to see what you want, my voice to speak what you want me speak, my hands to do the works you want done for your kingdom.  I pray for direction this week for myself, for the team, especially with some decisions we need to make.  I want to only follow you Lord.  Help me to love like you love us.  God, I belive that you have huge plans for Gettysburg.  You are the God of THIS city and the surrounding areas from Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the ends of the earth.  Lord, just let that love pour out and blessings over each ministry and with the events coming up.  In Jesus name...Amen!"

Generous lover...what is that?  In this past weekend service that's what the sermon was on in the series LOVE STARVED WORLD.  The main points were "great lovers constantly risk rejection," "great lovers live cheerful lives," and "it does not take two to tango."  What I got out of these points is that "you reap what you sow," it's your choice to see the glass half full or half empty (I choose half full), and don't put yourself in that victim position.  Fix and be the changer.  God gives us the authority and power when we use it correctly.  There, I WILL be an initiator and I'm willing to risk rejection.  I'm paying more attention to cheerfulness.  I will be the one to be giving and receive so that I can give more.
Romans 8:28 - "And we know that all things work for the greater good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose.

Reading Luke 10, remember that "the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few."  We need to go out and harvest.  *Work on the 80/20 principle.
I wrote out some new 6x6 goals individually and with the girls in the youth catalyst meeting.
With anything, you should always at least have an idea of what your Mission and Vision Statements are.
Take also a look at Romans 12 just take it in and run with it. :)

In the midst of everything...don't ever forget why God placed you here or anywhere! Put your mind on the goal...go EXTRAORDINARY!!! :)

Friends, Family...Life in general, REMEMBER/CELEBRATE/FIGHT BACK

So lately, my life has been changing, probably even more than I realize.  What is it that's been changing?

Thinking through my life lately, who are my real friends?  Why do I need to satisfy myself with just people here on earth when I have God?  I've always gone to friends here on earth before going to the Lord about whatever.  Something I'm realizing more and more in my experience is to go and trust in God first before anyone or anything else.  I have a few really good friends here on earth and I pray to continue to grow in my friendships with people.  Along with that though, I want to grow in my relationship with God before everything.  God has always been my provider and I never realized it as much until this schoolyear.

Who is really my family?  To be honest I find many to be my family now.  Not only do I have the family who raised me, loved me, and cared for me all these years but I have many more in my family.  I really, truly love and miss them though things can be hard at times.  I do get to see them though like twice a month at least since I live so close.  Recently this year my home family grew through births, marriages/engagements, etc.  But they aren't just my family.  I'm part of a family just in Gettysburg Masters Commission and at Freedom Valley.  There is even a bigger family I'm a part of and that we all can be when we follow God...that is the BODY OF CHRIST.

Casting Crowns - "If We Are The Body"
I absolutely love music.  I'm very passionnate about showing others to Christ through music whether it is singing, playing piano, or worship leading.
I've had a great time also with my new family that God placed me with for this schoolyear.  The Kadish's are so much fun to hang out with and especially this one...

Hopefully this upload worked.

Christianity to me is living for the one true and only God of the universe, loving and helping others and following Christ's example.
Another thing I've been thinking about lately is how busy I've always made my life.  I was always busy with sports, music, girl scouts or church.  My whole life has been about doing my best and doing the right thing.  I've always tried to never mess up and though I wasn't really popular in school, I never gave into when people asked me to do things that were wrong.  I have some great friends from this year and in my past t hat I've never realized, and people who are definately part of my family life.  So many important people have been taken away from me yet others have also come into my life.

My mom and pap lived for God as much as they were able to.  I think that's why I love God and the body of Christ.  At the same time I wonder why they were taken away from me.  Something i've realized is that they are in a better place where they aren't suffering anymore and that they are with me in my heart always.  The stupid disease of Cancer takes so many lives including it took my Mom and Pap.  Something I've been really praying and trying to think through is creating my own Relay For Life team this year.  I've done RFL for the past, well all through middle and high school and last year in college.  I'm praying that between family and friends I can make a team, maybe even a couple and have the support.  If I ask God and trust in him, he will provide.  I know that because I've been trusting and using my faith in him with money recently.

Not only is this a logo for Relay For Life but I think this is a logo for Christians to live by...REMEMER/CELEBRATE/FIGHT BACK!
We need to remember why we have been put on this earth...to live for God.  We need to celebrate our the life of Jesus Christ, following his example.  We need to fight back living a life of good and not evil.

Grace, Mercy, Love UNLIMITED...

Throughout my past week, I've learned alot about God's grace, mercy, and love.  GMC has been away for about a week now on the road to Texas.  We stopped in Tulsa and are on our way to Tulsa again.  What I believe is that on this trip God kept us safe, brought us closer together with him on a more personal level, as a GMC team and as a masters commission team overall.  The road trip has been long and tiring yet we had many laughs.
When we got to Tulsa, we stayed at Heather Bryant's house, hanging out with her and her roommate.  We were able to have fun getting to know a past GMC student, seeing old friends (Jaclyn and Josh), went out to see the movie "Red" and went to the local Steak'n Shake restaraunt.  Tulsa just brought back so many fun memories from our October trip to there.  Tulsa may be flat, no mountains but it is so beautiful out there.  I don't necessarily like cities but Tulsa is definately a place I want to move to in the future.  I'm so excited to be helping out our Freedom Valley Church Tulsa church plant.
We hit the road and then went to Texas.  We arrived to our hotel Saturday afternoon, StudioPlus right beside the famous SixFlags amusement park.  Though it was cold in Tulsa, Dallas, Texas was a different story.  The weather was so beautiful!  Our first night there, we went into the city and spent time with Lance, Daniel, and Lance's friend.  We all went out to walk around and ate dinner at some kareoke Texas pitbeef bbq place.  That was like a cultural experience for me because I never had tht kind of food before.  We actually ate at many different restaraunts that were cultural experiences for me.  We went to a chinese place, mexican place, the famous pizza hut, etc.  The food was ok but not the best part.
Before we really did anything, obviously we went to church.  The one highlight of my week was going to Gateway Church (Kari Jobe's church)!!! I was so excited to be there even though she was on tour at the time.  I'm so glad we were able to just praise and worship God there, going back into singing old hymns such as "Blessed Assurance".  We went to some church for the womans conference and then attended RealLife Church for the MC conference.
We spent time at the Bloom Conference with Lisa Bevere and the Masters Commission International Network Conference with John Bevere, Frontline Worship and many other speakers.  We met other masters students, heard fantastic "sermons" and spent time taking hilarious pictures and video which anyone who reads this will not be seeing. So many great memories.  Lisa Bevere really preached on Proverbs 31 and being a Lioness.  Being a Lionness is so important because as that, women are so strong, more then what everyone thinks.  I'm really hoping to read her book "Lionness Awaiting or Awaking" in the future.
To be honest, I'm so stressed with homework, getting caught up with everything we've missed the past week.  I'm just praying and know God will work it out.  i'm currently looking at some of the Roman Road scriptures, especially Romans 11:36.  I think God pointed this verse out to me because of the MCIN conference.  God has shown me throughout the conference/ trip that family is so important.  Not only family but knowing "that God will work everything for the good of those who LOVE him and are called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28).  God has definately pointed out Romans 8:28, family, and Jeremiah 29:11 out to me just about every day of this trip.  Though I love my family and miss them, I think this was showing me to forgive and let go on certain aspects.  Romans 8:28 was showing me that everything will and can work out but to trust in God's grace, mercy, and love.  We need to give grace.  God has a plan for us to prosper us and to give us a hope and a future (Jer. 29:11).
God is UNLIMITED!  God gives us grace...it is unlimited.  He gives us mercy...it is unlimited.  His LOVE is unilimited.  We need to learn an believe and have faith.  We need to start paying attention to our dreams and visions.  Looking at what God has destined for you us is so important to do.  My innovation and creativity is mostly in music but I always want to expand that.  When God speaks, he creates.  Something we need to know is that the ONLY thing on the earth that is unlimited are DISCIPLES OF CHRIST!
This is why we need missionaries in the world.  It says in the Bible that we are to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth.  Relationships with people and especially God are so important.  Do you know where you're at on the relationship scale with people?  With God?  People tend to go with the worldly views on relationships but to get the true information on it, you need to look in the Bible and at God's love for us (John 3:16).  We should also not be having excuses for everything.  Every human has an excuse for everything.  What do excuses really do?  People need to learn to just say how something really is and flow with it.  I know I tend to have too many excuses at times.  That is something i'm trying to work on now since hearing that sermon.
Are you only limited to changing the world for yourself, trying to receive grace, mercy and love or will you let God expand you?  If we let him expand our horizons, we can preach his word to all nations and share his grace, mercy, and love.  Where or who are you committed to?  Where or who is your covenant in?  I've committed these 9 months and the rest of my life into a covenant with my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  We learned about fearing God.  "It's not about fearing God but being away from him" ~ John Bevere.  I loved how John Bevere said some quote by C.S. Lewis and I missed it.  No, really I was upset about that but will be doing research on it soon!  Live the extraordinary life.  I've learned that I need to ask these three questions to myself a little bit more.  Why have you come here? (John 6:10-15).  What do you want to see? (Matthew 11:7-9).  Where are you willing to go? (Matthew 10:37-39).
So, will you do whatever it takes to go UNLIMITED?

A Purpose Driven Season/Life with God

Looking back to my past few days and during class I there is a good question of..."What is God like?"
When we talked about the human machine, I was like...huh?  Well our notes say that when human individual drifts apart from one anoter or collide into each other and when things go wrong inside the individual.
Talking about morality was interesting.  With individuals there is fair play and then there's harmony.  Tidying up is more of a personal aassessment.  My favorite part of looking into is made for or what our purpose is.
-Our purpose in life is so important and essential to living.  When trying to figure out what our purpose is in life, we can't look to other people for that answer.  I've been learning more and more that I can't look to people to find my purpose in life but look to God.  Sometimes I still don't know what my purpose is in places or with people, but that's when we need to talk to God and ask him what the reason is.
**What I do know is that my purpose or mission here on earth, here at GMC, is to have faith, living my life for the one true God the Father, leading the example of Jesus Christ to show others to the Lord, building their faith through the seven fruits of the spirit, music, praising/praying, fasting and worshipping him.
-Sometimes we really do need a day off, even if we don't think so (Sabbath Day).  Also what I learned from this past class is that we need to always have courage in order to do things in life.
I know that i've sometimes had a problem with the nice or honest issue.  I always want to be honest in telling someone something but if it's going to hurt their feelings, I don't know which way to go.  People worry about their weight/ apperance, the way the lifestyle is.  Everyone should take a look at Proverbs 9.  And we all need to know that God is our LANDLORD!
"He is responsible to me and i'm responsible to him."  We all need to be worthy Christians and it's so important."  Also we need to learn to value people more than things in life and more so God.  Some of the most valuable things in life can't be bought!"
Cardinal Virtues- prudence, justice, fortitude, temperance
~Key Hinge: prudence (common sense), temperance (abstinence), justice (fairness), and fortitude (guts) is so important to have.  Every person in the world should have these virtues and like the best to their ability that God gave them.
~Broken Hinge: are the truth that right actions done for wrong reasons and thinking God simply wanted us to have a set of rules just for a certain type of person.
**There is this saying we learned in Leadership which is to follow your character ethic, not just personality ethic**
*Also i'm really hoping to see that movie The Social Network because the movie looks so interesting.  What makes the trailor interesting is the fact that the guy in the movie is "socially awkward" but creates this networking site.  How does this make sense?  People need to learn however that our worth is not the internet, games or phones, but we live our life and what we do with that.*

Our Purpose Driven Life/ Season With God

~What is God Like?    "In a good many people's minds: something that interferes, that stops you from having a good time."
"the instructor who keeps saying no, not like that"
~The Human Machine
   1. When human individual drifts apart from one another, or collide into each other (cheating/bullying)
   2. When things go wrong inside the individual (internal conflict)
 Important Question?
~Morality
   1. Fair Play & Harmony (w/ individuals)
   2. Personal Assessment (tidying up)
   3. What is Our Purpose (made for)
~What question sets us apart?
   Mere Christianity pgs. 99 & 100 (72&73)
-Sometimes we really do need a day off, even when we think we don't.  (Sabbath Day)
-Every fight that happens, goes to a level of selfishness
-We need to always have courage in order to do things
   *Nice or Honest??
      -weight/apperance
      -advice (Proverbs 9)
      -lifestyle
   *God is our LANDLORD
-he is responsible to me, i'm responsible to him
*Being a worthy Christian is so important!!!
     people/things
we need to value the people more than other things.
*Some of the most valuable things in life can't be bought.
~Cardinal Virtues...
    *prudence, justice, fortitude, temperance
~Key Hinge (cardinal)
-Prudence (common sense) taking the trouble to think out what you are doing and what is likely to come of it. A child's heart & an adult's head/ Faith like a child/ harmless as doves, wise as serpents
-Tempeance (abstinence) going the right length and no furter. One of the marks of a certain type of bad man is that he cannot give up a thing w/o wanting everyone else to give it up.
-Justice (fairness) honesty, give & take, truthfulness, keeping promises.
-Fortitude (guts) two types of courage: the kind that faces danger & sticks it out during pain. You cannot practice any virtue unless you have courage
~Broken Hinges (cardinal)
*The truth that right actions done for the wrong reasons (or vice versa) do not help, to build the internal quality or character called a virtue.
*To think that God wanted simply obediene to set of rules/ meaning he wants a certain type of person.
*Virtues only necessary only for this present life, the point is that if people have not gat at least the beginnings of those qualities (i.e. character) inside them, then no possible external conditions could make a 'Heaven' for them.
(not just how it affects me now but in the whole scheme of things)
~Social morality:
*the movie Social Network - finding your place in life. Sometimes people create things to be social because we aren't social...then we have to much pride
(our worth is not in facebook or blinking lights)
~A Few Things (social)
"Do As you would be done by."
*First Thing: Christian morality between man and man is that in this department Christ did not come to preach any brand new morality
*Second Thing: Christianity has not and does not profess to have, a detailed political program for applying, to a particular society at a particular moment.
**Christianity is not a political machine**
*Third Thing: Cheerful society: full of singing, rejoicing and regarding worry or anxiety as wrong. NT hates busybodies
**As Christians, there doesn't have to be an acting fake being happy at work. We need to work on a level of no matter how things get, stay as positive as can be**
  *Fourth Thing: *Charging interest
**Even when you are in fault, don't bring up the other person's faults**
*Fifth Thing: Charity- giving to the poor. Insecurity is the greatest of fear of why we do not give.
**We need to learn to trust in what to help out with**
Gabe Lyons:
"The Next Christians" How a New Generation is Restoring Their Faith
What's Wrong With Today's Christians = youtube video
~Morality Psychoanalysis (choices)
*We make many choices every day that shape us.
   *A million little choices
~Choices
   *Moral Choice: Two Parts
    1. The Act of Choosing
    2. Raw Material of Choice (i.e. feelings, impulses the root)
    *Another Example:
Taking your life as a whole, with all your innumerable choices, all your life long you are slowly turning this central thing either into a heavenly creature or into a hellish creature.
"When a man is getting better he understands more and more clearly the evil  that is still left in him. When a man is getting worse he understands his own badness less and less" Monty Python And The Holy Grail - The Black Knight scene
**The fact is, when things aren't alright, we say we are but really aren't. We need to fix and sympothize in that.  Be there and address those things for other people even when you don't need it. Help tidy up someones feelings though you want to do your own thing. We go together or we go alone**
**Ask God for help when you need/want it**Don't be selfish.**We are to humble ourselves and help those around us out**
